In Philipp’s first year at Royal Holloway he applied to be presenter on the student and community radio station Insanity Radio 103.2 FM. Much to the surprise of himself (and his family and friends) he managed to land a presenting role! By chance Philipp was given the slot of Sunday, so he decided to name his programme “The Sunday Show” because... yeah.
Throughout his three years at university, The Sunday Show and Philipp’s Presenting style helped shape the surreal and wacky aspects of his comedy today. The show consists of 3 parts: quick jokes, longer form sketches, and the “Pun of the week”. Philipp wrote and edited the show as well as voicing most of the recurring characters
The Sunday Show won the Insanity Radio 2017/18 Best Topical Chat Show award and Philipp received the 2017/18 Insanity Radio Best Male presenter award. However, on a national level Philipp was short listed as one of the top 6 male presenters at the Student Radio Awards in 2017, and won the Silver 2017 Kevin Greening Award for creativity. Many of the judges of the awards praised Philipp’s comedic style, the high production value and quality of Philipp’s presenting style. in 2018, The Sunday Show was nominated for Best Speech Programme at the Student Radio Award supported by BBC 1 and Global.
As part of Philipp’s time on Insanity Radio 103.2 FM, Philipp hosted the Student Radio Chart Show which was syndicated nationwide across the UK.
The Sunday Show concluded on 3rd of June 2018 after 3 seasons, and 53 episodes. However Philipp still works in radio by volunteering as a traffic and travel presenter on Radio Jackie 107.8 FM. Philipp will also be continue his role as a presenter with an upcoming project... (how mysterious)
